Hamari Virasat

A Unique Mural of Textile Art

We are happy to announce the collaboration between the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum and Hamari Virasat - a Hand for Handmade (HFH) initiative to celebrate 75 years of the Indian constitution.

Hand for Handmade (HFH), a network of artisans, designers, NGO's and Craft Patrons, who have over 150 registered artisan cluster members and a network of over 9000 informal artisan and academic groups, media personnel, and other related stakeholders spread across the country. On January 26, 2024, Republic Day marked the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution. As part of the "Har Dil Mein Samvidhan" campaign, HFH created through partnerships, unique fabric mural representing diverse handmade forms. 75 different forms of handmade fabric or art and will represent 75 different artisan clusters across India.

In collaboration with the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Hand for Handmade (HFH) is showcasing an exhibition of the mural starting in Ahmedabad from February 16 (Friday) to 18 (Sunday), 2024 (10AM – 6PM). This exhibition is not only a representation of our tradition, arts and culture but also emphasizes the role of artisans as an exemplary example of Unity in Diversity.
