Eminent Art Historian & Adjunct Professor, College of the Humanities of Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario - Canada

Venue: Lecture Hall, Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Institute of Indology Campus, Near Gujarat University, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad.

Harsha V. Dehejia has a double doctorate, one in Medicine and the other in Ancient Indian Culture. He is a practicing physician and is also Adjunct Professor in the College of the Humanities of Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario - Canada. He has published extensively on Krishna Shringara, curated many exhibitions and produced two documentaries.

Krishna Shringara:
To fully understand Krishna Shringara one must, in Jayadeva's words, not only have a romantic sensitivity but equally have steadfast devotion to Krishna. This richly illustrated talk while exploring the historic evolution of Krishna Shringara, emphasizes the twin concepts of madhurya and viraha in celebrating Krishna Shringara.
