A Citi-CSMVS CSR initiative

On Sunday 25 February, 2024, Museum on Wheels is visiting the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm, with the Exhibition: Ancient Sculptures - India Egypt Assyria Greece Rome.

Three thousand years ago, India was already in contact with West Asia, and later with the cultures of Egypt, Greece and Rome. As trade developed, people across these regions connected, exchanging commodities, knowledge, skills, and most importantly, ideas. In this exhibition, the art and architecture of ancient civilisations are explored through a display of unique sculptures from museum collections across the globe and enriched with digital interactives.

The Citi-CSMVS Museum on Wheels project, now over 8 years old, is an outreach initiative of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, Mumbai consisting of state-of-the-art buses that travel extensively in urban and rural parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Delhi and Rajasthan, carrying exhibitions on a variety of themes.
