At the Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Museum, the classroom extends into the galleries through Museum Pathshala, a specially curated programme for school children.
The programme began in 2019 as a school outreach initiative and has since evolved into a multifaceted learning programme shaped by collaboration and feedback. The museum uses its collections as teaching tools, curating sessions that connect directly with students' curricula while creating opportunities for exploration and dialogue. Through close engagement with objects, galleries, and exhibitions, students are encouraged to develop new perspectives on history, art, and culture. Each session is aligned with the curricula of various educational boards, including CBSE, ICSE, State Board, and IB, for students in Classes 4 to 10.
These sessions foster a participatory learning environment. Through specially designed worksheets and interactive activities, students are encouraged to think critically and engage meaningfully with the museum's collections. Rather than viewing the past as something distant or ancient, they are invited to experience it as a living presence that continues to resonate in the present.
