A monthly late-evening museum experience.

On the last Friday of every month, the museum extends its visiting hours untill 9:00 PM.

 

 

About the performers:

Dr. Mithun Radhakrishna
Dr. Mithun Radhakrishna is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar and a Carnatic musician who performs on the electric mandolin. Hailing from Mysore, Karnataka, he is a professionally trained Carnatic mandolin player with over 20 years of training. Since 2009, he has been under the tutelage of the renowned violinist Vid. TKV Ramanajacharyulu from Trichy. He is a graded artist with All India Radio and has performed in more than 50 concerts across India and the United States, including during the prestigious Chennai Music Season. His music brings the melodic grammar, gamakas, phrasing and improvisational character of Carnatic music to the electric mandolin, while exploring the expressive possibilities of the instrument in both classical and collaborative settings.

Prof. Sameer Sahasrabudhe
Prof. Sameer Sahasrabudhe is a Professor of Practice in Design at IIT Gandhinagar, with more than 25 years of experience across visual design, advertising, animation filmmaking and educational multimedia. He is also an exponent of tabla and trained for over 12 years under his maternal uncle, the late Pt. Madhusudan Manohar. He accompanies the main artist on tabla for this performance.

Harvansh Dandelia
Harvansh Dandelia is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist who has been learning and performing music since the age of 12. He has been an active member of the music communities at NIT Raipur and IIT Gandhinagar, performing at institute concerts, cultural festivals and public events. He has represented his institutes at the Inter-IIT Cultural Meet and several national inter-college competitions, receiving awards in both solo and ensemble categories. In recognition of his contributions to music and the performing arts, he received the Senate Commendation for Outstanding Performance in Arts and Culture from IIT Gandhinagar and also served as Secretary of the Music Club.

Harvansh plays keyboard, acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and percussion. In recent years, his primary focus has been the electric bass, particularly its role in Indian classical and fusion music. His musical interests bring together Indian classical ideas with contemporary Western harmony. He has performed with artists including Chirag Todi and Divya Vora, and accompanies the main artist on bass guitar for this performance.
