The film emerges as a poignant homage to Reuben David, the legendary “miracle man” of Ahmedabad. It traces the remarkable journey of a man born into a Jewish family—an aesthete and music lover, once a passionate hunter—whose life underwent a profound transformation into one of deep compassion for the animal world.
Endowed with an instinctive understanding of wildlife, Reuben David went on to envision and create the iconic Kamala Nehru Zoological Park and the vibrant ecological precinct around Kankaria Lake—enduring landmarks woven into the city’s cultural fabric. Revered as Gujarat’s first wildlife conservationist, his contributions earned national recognition from Indira Gandhi and the honour of the Padma Shri.
The film by Bijoy Anand Shivram stands as a quiet yet powerful tribute to a life of vision, resilience, and lasting legacy.
Born to journalists K. Shivram and Amni Shivram—the first Malayali woman English journalist—Bijoy Shivram is a distinguished Indian classical dancer trained in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. A discerning graphic designer and ardent advocate of the arts, he serves as Vice Principal of JG College of Performing Arts and Assistant Director (Operations), overseeing 17 JG institutions. He is also the founder of Preksha, a cultural initiative dedicated to nurturing and promoting the arts in Ahmedabad.
